Position Purpose 

The Head of Operations Excellence is focused on the creation and implementation of Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards). Post standards implementation, this role is responsible for maintaining and improving the integrity and consistency of our brands by ensuring franchisees (owners) adhere to the Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards). The Head of Operations Excellence will closely monitor results of salon visit assessments, franchisee participation and guest feedback. The Head of Operations Excellence duties will include regular communication with franchisees, third party assessment vendors, the brand team they support, and the Legal Department, as well as continued innovation/advancement of systems and processes that support operational excellence. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Create Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) for specific brand(s) following the existing Operational Standards for Supercuts and based on best practices within the franchise industry  
  • Engage with the EVP, Brand Operations to implement Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) throughout the franchisee system 
  • Fully responsible for maintaining and updating Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) 
  • Align Brand Operational Standards initiatives with the company and brand specific strategic goals and objectives  
  • Ensure that franchisees adhere strictly to Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) 
  • Understand best practices and recommend the implementation of compliance-related improvements and initiatives within the franchise network. Implement a recognition program for franchisees to drive behaviors and incentivize the adherence to operations excellence standards.    
  • Collaborate with the internal and external partners to update excellence standards in response to changes in operations practices, mandates or company policy. 
  • Monitor franchise operations standards compliance, write remedy letters for compliance breaches, and create comprehensive compliance reports and programs 
  • Work closely with the EVP, Brand Operations and Head of Brand to enhance compliance frameworks, ensuring that all franchisees operate within legal and organizational guidelines to maintain the integrity and reputation of the brand 
  • Oversee the franchise compliance program, focusing on adherence to the Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) with general awareness franchise agreements, and relevant federal and state regulations 
  • Draft and send remedy letters to franchisees in violation of their franchise agreements or the Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards), outlining required corrective actions and timelines 
  • Develop and maintain a compliance tracking tool and ensure timely updates to the Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) and other legal documents in accordance with regulatory changes.
  • Collaborates with third party to ensure franchisees operations align with Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) and legal requirements 
  • Serve as a point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries 
  • Design and lead educational programs and workshops for franchisees and their staff on Brand Operational Standards (Excellence Standards) compliance, legal obligations, improvement opportunities, and best practices in franchise operations 
  • Collaborate with other Head of Operations Excellence in the design and implementation of brand specific operational standards and share best practices across brands 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. 
  • 5 years of experience in a compliance role within a franchising environment, with a strong focus on legal and regulatory compliance and operational excellence requirements. 
  • Experience in the design and implementation of standards manuals and programs. 
  • Detailed knowledge of franchise law, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in creating and interpreting compliance reports. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Leadership and project management experience. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building positive relationships with franchisees and internal teams. 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of franchise business models and performance measures 
  • Strong organization skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 per year
